【New COVID-19 vaccination arrangement for Sinovac (CoronaVac) vaccine for residents of residential care homes 】
Vaccination regimen for the Sinovac (CoronaVac) vaccine for residents of Residential Care Homes (RCHs), including RCHs for Elderly and Persons with Disability, has been updated recently:
For those without previous COVID-19 infection:
The interval between the first dose and second dose of the Sinovac vaccine is shortened from 28 days to 21 days.
For those who have previous COVID-19 infection:
Unvaccinated residents can receive the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine 4 weeks after recovery and the second dose of Sinovac vaccine 3 months after the first dose.
Residents previously vaccinated with 1 dose of Sinovac vaccine can receive another dose of the Sinovac vaccine 3 months after recovery.
Vaccination arrangement for the Comirnaty (BioNTech) vaccine for residents, and vaccination arrangement (both Sinovac and BioNTech vaccines) for RCH staff would remain the same.
Visiting health teams will still access those RCHs with infected cases to provide COVID-19 vaccination to non-infected or recovered residents in RCHs.
